« FEAR OF WATER » IN THE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL OF LIEGE COMPETITION
Montreal, Monday March 19th 2012 – Go Films and eOne International are happy to announce that FEAR OF WATER has been selected for competition in the Liege International Film Festival which will take place in Belgium from April 19th to the 22nd, 2012.
FEAR OF WATER will be screened in the official competition section which regroups 8 films from around the world.
Rosalie Richard (Stéphanie Lapointe) is found, murdered and raped, at the foot of a cliff in the Magdalen Islands. The sordid crime wreaks havoc on the quiet life of Sergeant André Surprenant (Pierre-François Legendre) of the local Sûreté du Québec detachment. While the shy and quiet Surprenant starts the hunt for the killer, his marriage is crumbling, his teenage daughter rejects him, his psychologist (Pascale Bussières) is trying to help him overcome his phobias, and the Sûreté is trying to push him aside by bringing in an officer from Montreal, Detective Gingras (Normand D’Amour), to lead the investigation.
Written by Gabriel Pelletier and Marcel Beaulieu, FEAR OF WATER is adapted from the novel ON FINIT TOUJOURS PAR PAYER by Jean Lemieux, published at Éditions de la courte échelle. This feature film, directed by Gabriel Pelletier, has been shot at Magdalen Islands.
FEAR OF WATER stars Pierre-François Legendre, Brigitte Pogonat, Normand D’Amour, Stéphanie Lapointe, Pascale Bussières, Paul Doucet, Michel Laperrière, Maxime Dumontier, Alexandre Goyette, Germain Houde, Sandrine Bisson and Isabelle Cyr.
